The Cold and Hot Forming of Vessel Heads
Cold and hot forming of heads is performed according to the relevant specifications for aluminium alloys, austenitic stainless steel, carbon steel, duplex and super duplex stainless, special materials such as nickel alloys, titanium and clad materials, as well as zirconium and tantalum. Production techniques utilize hot pressing by means of deep drawing, dishing/flanging and cold spinning.

The range of heads covers diameters from 21.3 mm to 13.5 m and thicknesses from 2 mm to 250 mm. Also fabrications are supplied i.e. heads completely delivered with flanges, clips and nozzles according drawing. Another important service and KÖNIG’s core business is special pressings, such as turbine housings, pump cases or cover sheets.

KÖNIG is holder of the AMSE U and U2 stamp, the Manufacturing License of Special Equipment of the Peoples Republic of China, is qualified according to the Norwegian NORSOK M650 Rev. 3 for special material and is certified according to KTA 1401 (nuclear power station). In addition we have fulfilled the requirements of PED 97/23/EG Annex I 4.3 and 3.1, ISO 9001:2000, AD 2000 and AD 2000 WO, as well as L R Approval Fusion Welded Pressure Vessel 2.1.
